After transitioning from careers in sports to becoming food entrepreneurs, Güsto Snacks founders Giuseppe Baidoo and Claudio Owusu know a thing or two about spin. The entrepreneurial duo left Italy for the UK in search of better educational and employment opportunities and met while studying at university.
They bonded over their shared Ghanaian heritage and sports careers – Baidoo was a semi-professional basketball player and Owusu a soccer player. They participated in a startup pitching competition during their course, pitching an early idea for their health food business. After beating out other competitors, the pair won the pitch and secured funding to launch Güsto Snacks, a brand on a mission to fight food waste by turning unformed fruit into sustainable air-dried snacks.
After raising a seed round in September 2023, Güsto Snacks is now stocked in WH Smith locations across the UK, Selfridges and Amazon, where the business sells 18,000 snack packs per month. Güsto recently expanded into Germany, and Baidoo and Owusu aim to disrupt the $1.67 billion European grocery market.
Embracing change and adapting to trends is essential for any business, so it was only natural that the pair would be excited to explore the potential of integrating Galaxy AI into their business operations. Other features like Transcript Assist² have helped the Güsto Snacks team get more out of meetings and better manage workflow.
“The Transcript Assist feature is my favorite,” said Baidoo, “because it really allows me to focus and immerse myself in meetings without worrying about missing or forgetting what was said. The fact that I can transcribe, translate and summarize meeting notes in real time is an absolute time saver.”

The Fold was particularly helpful during a critical email exchange to discuss potential funding for Güsto Snacks.
“An investor contacted us by email, and as you can imagine, a conversation of this magnitude requires founders to be very professional, even if it’s little more than email. I didn’t have my laptop handy and was anxious using my phone to write an email of that caliber,” Owusu said. “Thankfully, with the help of Chat Assist³, I was able to write a professional email which was automatically checked for spelling and grammar mistakes – ideal as English is not my first language.”

As Güsto Snacks expands into new territories, Galaxy AI has the perfect tool for simplifying communication and overcoming language barriers.
“Since the launch of our products in Germany, communication is essential, especially with future international suppliers, so the Live Translate⁴ feature is a lifesaver to discuss critical information in their native language,” said Owusu.
